Yes at the end of the canal is the Leede and Haarlemmer trekvaart

in the seventies the area on the left was meadow, all the way to Sassenheim and Warmond. The bridges were not there, and the houses were build in the early eighties.

There was such a sense of space in the seventies, where I grew up there were meadows, all the way to the Ringvaart. Now it’s very build up there too. I’m grateful to have known it when it was just nature 🍃

It is developed to provide housing, still not meeting demand (single housing instead of what used to be family homes). I am happy I still remember the fields and meadows too.
