Slightly Different Allium Groups

The Netherlands, Lisse – May 2026
LAPC #403 focuses on photography tools: perspective, depth and scale. Here two photos of the same group of Aliums in a field, slightly different use of depth and framing. The main difference is the use of focus and framing. I am not sure which one is better, so you be the judge of it.
Shot with iPhone 17 Pro Max edited using Snapseed and Marksta. Click the picture for a larger version

Nice! I like the latter with the shallow focus, Chris!

thx John, I am leaning to that one too

I prefer the focused one but I think the reason is that I prefer the deeper purple shade of the flowers (the color looks a bit faded on the shallow focus version)

thx John, that is true, not sure how that happened 🙂 This version also has the idea of continuity towards the back. As if the lines continue.

I prefer the second; the depth from the focus really adds to the appeal without taking anything away from flowers or the color.
