E-bicycle
The theme for Lens-artists Weekly Photo Challenge #116 is ‘symmetry’.
The Pas Opweg leading to the Hidden Village in the forest near Nunspeet. In 1943 – 1944 the Dutch resistance build a village where people, wanted by the Germans, could hide.
We are lucky to have thousands of kilometers of free bicycle lanes in The Netherlands. And riding an e-bike for the first time in my life in this forest was a wonderful experience.

Superb photo Chris. Some friends recently acquired e-bikes. We can’t get them off of them.

Thanks John, it was my first experience, and it was quite nice, but if you want to push a speed it works against you (over 25 km/h).

My neighbourhood has a large number of cyclists who participate in a yearly cycling challenge called the Sourland Spectacular. I’ve always wondered if riding on an electric bicycle was sort of cheating.

These bikes support speeds up to 25 km/h. If you go faster by peddling the engine creates resistance. But there are different types that go much faster. And in professional cycling cheating has been done. A few watt more means a lot. I still use muscle power but get overtaken by lots of elderly people nowadays :-).
