Polder view
The Netherlands, Warmond – August 2019
The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #62 is ‘silhouettes’.
Instead of ‘hard’ silhouettes I find it sometimes more pleasing to show some details in the darker parts.
The darker area’s create a nice frame for the view on the polder and meadows following the canal.

I love this shot, Chris. It is quintessentially Dutch! The tree and fence silhouettes really help frame the shot and add to the atmosphere.

A beautiful capture Chris and I love this view. I used to paddle here in a small inflatable dinghy as a child 🙂

This is next to the park of Huis Warmond! I am curious about your history with and in Warmond. We were neighbors once!

Oh wow! I grew up in Lisse and my parents often took me sailing on the Kagerplassen. I had a small dinghy that I would blow up and paddle through the waters behind Warmond with when my parents moored the boat nearby. This would have been in the late 1960’s to early 1970’s. If you saw a small blond-haired girl in an orange dinghy with an orange life jacket, that would have been me 🙂
