Young Hands

England, Rusper – August 2019

Something old: we all know babies and the way they mesmerize us. Something new: each baby is unique. Something borrowed: he is his own boss, but for now he depends on his mother and family to be nurtured and safe. And his opa borrows him as a model, because he cannot object yet. Something blue: well, the sweater. This little boy is a treasure and brings so much happiness and love.

The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #58 is ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’. For more information on how to join the Lens-Artists Photo Challenges, click here for details.

Beach Scene against a Backdrop of Sunset

The Netherlands, Scheveningen – July 2019

Years ago I posted a long series titled ‘photographers framed while shooting’. This is another one in that genre, on the hottest day on record in The Netherlands.

Seaside old glory

The Netherlands, Scheveningen – July 2019

The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #56  is Seashores and/or Lakeshores. Scheveningen used to be a small fishing village but now is part of Den Haag.
The Kurhaus is the only remaining old building. In the sixties everything except the Kurhaus was demolished and replaced by modern type buildings. Killing the sight and sphere of the coastline.

Skyline 2 – Dreamy

The Netherlarnds, The Hague – July 2019

The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #55  is Dreamy. Looking at high buildings, the people, careers, work and activities going on in them, makes me wonder sometimes. This is Den Haag, the area round the Central Station.

At The Gate

The Netherlands, Den Haag – June 2019

This is Paleis Noordeinde in Den Haag, the office of our King.
The light of the sun shining over the facade highlights details on the top of the fence and the standard of the King, indicating he was present.

Allium: Early Sunrise

The Netherlands, Oegstgeest – May 2019

Over more than a year ago the Weekly Photo Challenge stopped unfortunately. I miss that challenge still, but fortunately I found the Lens-Artists Challenge. Each week a new theme and this week it is #52 Serenity.
