The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #56 is Seashores and/or Lakeshores. Scheveningen used to be a small fishing village but now is part of Den Haag.
The Kurhaus is the only remaining old building. In the sixties everything except the Kurhaus was demolished and replaced by modern type buildings. Killing the sight and sphere of the coastline.

After another week of tropical heat it seems that global warming aka climate change is not as fake as some president of the USA believes. And the only variable that has disrupted nature since ages is mankind. It seems time to make up our minds.
A few lines of Genesis – Watcher of the skies came into my mind.
Creatures shaped this planet’s soil
Now their reign has come to end
Has life again destroyed life?
Do they play elsewhere, do they know
More than their childhood games?
Maybe the lizard’s shed its tail
This is the end of man’s long union with Earth
It is all up to us.

The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #55 is Dreamy. Looking at high buildings, the people, careers, work and activities going on in them, makes me wonder sometimes. This is Den Haag, the area round the Central Station.

The B4 retouch series:
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish in – an originally – small series. That series caught on a bit more than I thought.
All of them are not retouched yet.Scratches, dust and stains are not removed.

This is a Dutch language tongue in cheek photo. Buiten gebruik means out of order. But buiten in Dutch can mean outside and gebruik means to use. Use outside? We are outside!

A tollhouse or toll house is a building with accommodation for a toll collector, beside a tollgate on a toll road or canal. This is the toll house along the canal from Leiden to Haarlem in Oegstgeest.

Music clips
Blood On The Rooftops – Genesis
Dark and grey, an English film, the Wednesday Play
We always watch the Queen on Christmas Day
Won’t you stay?
Though your eyes see shipwrecked sailors you’re still dry
The outlook’s fine though Wales might have some rain
Saved again.
Let’s skip the news boy (I’ll make some tea)
The Arabs and the Jews boy (too much for me)
They get me confused boy (puts me off to sleep)
And the thing I hate – Oh Lord!
Is staying up late, to watch some debate, on some nation’s fate.
Hypnotised by Batman, Tarzan, still surprised!
You’ve won the West in time to be our guest
Name your prize!
Drop of wine, a glass of beer dear what’s the time?
The grime on the Tyne is mine all mine all mine
Five past nine.
Blood on the rooftops – Venice in the Spring
Streets of San Francisco – a word from Peking
The trouble was started – by a young Errol Flynn
Better in my day – Oh Lord!
For when we got bored, we’d have a world war, happy but poor
So let’s skip the news boy (I’ll go make that tea)
Blood on the rooftops (too much for me)
When old Mother Goose stops – they’re out for 23
Then the rain at Lords stopped play
Seems Helen of Troy has found a new face again.
