Spring Daffodil

The Netherlands, Oegstgeest – March 2021

The 140th Weekly Lens Artists Challenge is ‘change of scenery’. During the pandemic my window to the world shrunk. But this year I do what I always do in Spring: shooting the flowers growing right outside the kitchen window. The good old Nikon D500 with long lens being in use again, waiting on the kitchen table each morning when I open the shutters. A micro or macro change of scenery, but nature nurtures not only its plants. Indeed you do not have to go far for a change of scenery.

Polder

The Netherlands, Rijnsaterwoude – June 2020

The theme for the weekly Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #99 is ‘old and new’.

A polder is a piece of land below the surrounding water level. It is artificial because it is created by man. Dykes are build to make it dry and keep the water out, and canals are made to pump water out, dumping it in canals that eventually bring it back to sea. In the background you see a dyke: behind the dyke is water of a lake. If the dyke was not there you would look at the lake :-). So this is old and new land.
