The Lens Artists Photo Challenge this week is #194: bokeh. Spring is the time for bulb flowers: daffodils, tulips, hyacinths. The garden is popping with tulips right now. And in two weeks the flower parade will take place after two years of absence. Looking forward to it, especially the smell of the flowers.

The theme for his week Lens-artists challenge #150 is ‘Let’s go wild’.
Near our house there is an artificial lake created by the need for sand for infrastructural building. The sand was used to build a railway and as a base for houses and roads. On the banks is big nest box for Sand Martins. They come all the way from Africa and normally hatch in steep river walls. After creating their offspring they move back to Africa. In the setting sun they play in the sky, chasing each other.

The tulips gave us weeks of colorful joy this year, but in May a storm started to end their blooming period. The petals gone, the stems left behind. Derelict.

The theme for his week Lens-artists challenge #145 is ‘getting to know you’. In Spring work on the garden starts, to prepare for Summer and warmer weather, outside dining and cooking, relaxing in the sun, reading a book. When the sun is low, the light is sometimes fantastic and reflects on the dry grass shoots of last year.
