Place in the World – Art Work

The weekly theme is ‘place in the world’. Where do you belong? Images of the place I live, my place(s) in the world.  Number 4: the bridge over Hollands Diep for the high speed line. Bridges, dams and water locks are ‘art work’ in the jargon of the agency that maintains them, Rijkswaterstaat.

Head 2 Heat

I like to take photos out of a driving car when traveling (No worries, I am not doing the driving at those moments). Sometimes there is a funny shot in them. This is the motorway just south of Dordrecht at the Moerdijkbruggen (sorry link just in Dutch); the water it bridges is the Hollands Diep.. The first train bridge in the back is built for the high-speed line to Paris. When I looked up the photos at home I found this one. A cyclist meets the train head to head. Luckily he wears his helmet.
