Rembrandt van Rijn

The Netherlands, Leiden – September 2018

This is the area where Rembrandt van Rijn was born in 1606. His father was a miller, and the mill on the left is a replica of a mill he worked.  His birthplace was off to the right of this photo. Unfortunately the Leiden council decided to demolish the house he was born in around 1920. What remains is a plaque on a modern apartment building. Luckily, we still can enjoy his paintings.

This week – and the Challenge last theme – is ‘all time favorites’.

This is the last of the Weekly Photo Challenges organised on WordPress. I enjoyed participating and will sure miss it. I will just post photos this week and not follow the theme.  If you want to browse what I posted over the years, follow the link to the tags down here. I am not sure I tagged them all, but you can definitely choose a favourite!

Not the 2017 Favourite – Galerij Prins Willem V (Leftover 3)

The last weekly photo challenge is ‘2017 Favourite’. Share the most meaningful photo that I have taken in 2017. Well, that is tough: which one of the odd 365 photo’s to choose? A lot of them are special to me, meaningful, but it might be that I did not publish my most meaningful photo of 2017 on my blog. So I am taking my own direction in this theme: I am not going to choose. My personal theme this week will be about photo’s that are leftovers of 2017. And they all are meaningful to me as well. I hope you do not mind. Wishing all of you a happy, merry Christmas and fabulous 2018.
