This old wind mill from 1783 has its own story. Its name, ‘De Hoop Doet Leven’, is a Dutch saying: meaning hope brings or gives life. Till 1999 the mill was part of the water management of a polder near Rijnsburg. It was too close to the new build of flower auction Royal Flora Holland, and the auction paid for its removal to this new spot. It is still working as a museum to the public.
