About the B4 retouch series:
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish. Some of them are partly retouched but most do have scratches, dust and stains.

Slane Hill in Ireland. Close to Slane Castle castle that is famous among other historical facts, for being the recording site for U2’s The unforgettable fire’ in 1984.
Never judge an album by its cover, but part of the castle burned in 1991, but was restored in 2001. Slane Castle is also famous for its concerts and festivals; a lot of famous band and artists performed there.
Outside the village is The Hill of Slane with a small old ruined chapel, a ruined monastery and a graveyard, overlooking the landscape and the river Boyne.

Each time we travel from or to the UK by Eurotunnel, this site next to the motorway draws my attention. A wood of pylons emerges, displaying big power lines in the air.
It is like an army that comes out of the soil. Luckily my wife does most of the driving, so I have my hands free to snap about when we pass this point.

This is the first time I post an entry in a theme of Frank’s Jansen Dutch goes the photo: Focus!
The photo is from a trip to Calais France, and shows the flat lands of Flanders on the coast of the Channel.
Each time of year these fields look different; in Summer they look bright and light, in Winter they can be grey and dark.
We make this trip a few times each year, and each time it reminds me of Jacques Brel’s chanson ‘mijn vlakke land’.
(The link to my 2014 post is not working any more, I cleaned up my blog a few months ago.
You can find the English and Dutch lyrics here.

The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #62 is ‘silhouettes’.
Instead of ‘hard’ silhouettes I find it sometimes more pleasing to show some details in the darker parts.
The darker area’s create a nice frame for the view on the polder and meadows following the canal.
