Old Trees
These trees are a decade older than I am. When I was young they were small as well.

Autumn has arrived. Some trees take a fast lane to color and shed, some take more time. Each year this tree is delight of gold.
This week’s Lens Artitsts Photo Challenga (#321) is Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). That is a creative technique, but in this case the movement was non-intentional, caused by the extreme zoom of the iPhone, my unsteady hand and the amount of light available. However, it gave an overall glow to the photos that I do like. I hope the hose of this week Anne is not offended by this entry.

The theme for the weekly Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #289 is ‘tools of photo composition’. Rain on a window distorts the sharpness outside, and adds something extra to the shape of the trees on this wet, Winter day.

Some photos do not fit the LAPC’s themes, so there is a rest category ‘last chance’ being #280. I never am guided by the themes in the photos I shoot. Some fit in, some don’t. But I never know the theme while shooting. Here is one from the archive I recently stumbled upon, never published.
Slane Hill in Ireland. Close to Slane Castle castle that is famous among other historical facts, for being the recording site for U2’s The unforgettable fire’ in 1984. And famous open air concerts.
Outside the village is The Hill of Slane with a small old ruined chapel, a ruined monastery and a graveyard, overlooking the landscape and the river Boyne.
The most interesting place is a small hill with undergrowth right behind the site, from which this photo was taken.

A Magnolia tree. Autumn is a time of rapid changes. It can be light and sunny with wonderful colors on display, or grim and dim in rain. Both have its unique beauty in my humble opinion.
The lens artists photo challenge #278 is ‘unique’.

This week lens artists photo challenge is ‘that special place‘. The empty branches of a tree in Winter. During this pandemic I realized that the immediate outside of my house is an inspiration for photos. During the seasons and days it is always nice to look out and sometimes catch a nice view. Looking back over the years I realize that I have always been intrigued by little details near the places where I lived. Making these places special in a certain way.

About the B4 retouch series:
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish. Some of them are partly retouched but most do have scratches, dust and stains.
The picture was originally shot with Pentax K1000 on Kodak Plusx, scanned from negative and tweaked using Snapseed and Marksta. Click the picture for a larger version.
