About the B4 retouch series: I browsed my archive for pictures to publish. Some of them are partly retouched but most do have scratches, dust and stains.

Lens-Artist’s Photo Challenge #384 is ‘astonishment’. The brief is to show in a photo a feeling of surprise or wonder. These two dogs (Murphy left and Cooper right) keep me wondering for years already. It is about their addiction to water in general. If there is water anywhere (preferably muddy) they dive in. Here they have a bath hunting for the ball in at the quayside of Blakeney.

Architecture can be beautiful in full color as well in monochrome. In ‘twins’ I show the monochrome twin of the color shot at the Kop van Zuid in Rotterdam. The second set is an old elevator at the Rijnhaven.
This week LAPC #260 is ‘overlooked’. Again one from the archives, the then small town of Fira, on the island Thira aka Santorini, built on the edge of a former caldera. The old harbor is deep down, and 600 steps lead you up to the town balancing on the edge of the caldera. Donkeys are used for comfort against payment. Since 1979 tourism boomed extremely on this beautiful island. I feel fortunate to have visited it before that tourist flood. But each time I see photos of this place I long to go back. The beaches are perfect: volcanic ashes that does not stick like sand.

The Lens Artists Photo Challenge #233 is ‘a one lense walk‘. The first week of 2023 we had a short stay at Norfolk; the beauty of its coast and its wildlife gave ample opportunities for photos. The Nikon D500 has the 18-105 mm lens on it. The marshes on the quay of Blakeney around sunrise.
The theme for this week’s Lens Artists Photo Challenge #172 is a day of my week. The photo above was one of a series I took during a morning when I visited a little village in Norfolk, Wells next the Sea. From the dock the view on the low tide coastline was amazing: boats, gulls, water, sun and clouds. It felt like a photographer heaven where there is too much to shoot in a short time. So this week I publish some of the photo’s from that morning in September.

The harbor of Barfleur, a small village in the West of Normandy. Years ago I had an idea to sell postcards from photos I was shooting. It never came to reality. This would be a pretty one I think.
