Sunset (Silhouette)
The theme for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #62 is ‘silhouettes’.
Instead of ‘hard’ silhouettes I find it sometimes more pleasing to show some details in the darker parts.

Lovely sunset, Chris. I like how you show some detail to add a sense of realism to the shot. You raise a great question, Chris. How much detail? Some detail can be good in some shots but not others. I’m experimenting.

Thank you Patti. I think you are right: you can only find out what the use of details delivers to the photo you want to make. If I would have had more contrast in this one I think the mood would change. Now it is a semi misty sunset end of Summer. With soft tones. For this photo I like that more. But I agree, it is personal taste and preference. And it starts with experimenting.
