Alkmaar, a Wrap Up

The last weeks I published some photos of Alkmaar, a beautiful city in the north-west of The Netherlands. Here is a wrap up that trip. I do hope you enjoy. Among them the building ‘Waag’ where the weighed cheese and then sold outside on the square.

Decisions, decisions ………..

A shop window in Alkmaar. The outside of the shop and the styling of the display caught my eye. However, there was so much reflection that just a photo of the display was impossible. So this became a kind of self-reflection or complex selfie. I can not decide however if I prefer the original color or the monochrome version. So I show them both. We Dutchmen have a way of easily reaching consensus by the middle. What do you think and which one do you prefer?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dialogue (fairground vs chandelier)

This weekly photo challenge is about ‘dialogue’. Put two photos next to another in such a way that an exchange between the pictures creates more meaning then an individual presentation. Well, here the fun starts. Communication between photos,  just as the real world, is subjective. So I  welcome you all to discover what the talk might be about between these two pictures! Both are from the Grote Kerk in Alkmaar. Outside was a fairground, inside no one was (yet?) swaying in the chandeliers.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dialogue (Alkmaar vs Edinburgh)

This weekly photo challenge is about ‘dialogue’. Put two photos next to another in such a way that an exchange between the pictures creates more meaning then an individual presentation. Well, here the fun starts. Communication between photos,  just as the real world, is subjective. So I  welcome you all to discover what the talk might be about between these two pictures! One is taken in Edinburgh, the other in Alkmaar. The latter one is a bit tilted but that is a link between the two photos as a starter.
