Anticipation: Digital

This weekly theme is ‘anticipation’.

In our past – which is not that long ago – texts on paper were made by hand: hand written with a pen, by typewriter or printing press. Nowadays all  texts are made using software. So the paper copy is just one way of output of a digital stored original on a medium. The civil service by its nature is paper orientated, but is slowly turning into working with digital media. Archives are still mostly paper based, but there is  a transformation to digital archiving. This stamp was used to inform that a  hard copy  also had a digital copy in the archive. It says in Dutch ‘digital  available’.

Thanks, Chris, for the ping. And to think so many processes and machines have already gone paperless–from adding machines to bank receipts, to bills…
